Megalight is not merely a worksite illumination system, it is also an extension cord system enabling to link appliances into a chain to form a lighting system consisting of dozens of individual units.

Megalight Systems Oy operating in Finland has been manufacturing and developing its own worksite lighting systems for over 15 years now. We asked professionals who use lighting equipment in their work, what do they expect from a good lighting system. Based on the results of this enquiry we developed the versatile Megalight System – the portable lighting equipment and extension cord system, intended for professional use. 16 A socket for electrical devices or for chaining lamps into a system, a high-quality 10 m extension cable, handy suspension and attachment solutions as well as replaceable dirt protectors with or without reflectors represent solutions that are highly appreciated by professionals.

Megalight lighting units are well known for their superb quality, durability and safety, they are usable in even the harshest of work environments, both indoors as well as outdoors. Megalight units have a light-weight strain-resistant structure, and they are fully maintainable, as all the unit components are available as spare parts. The fluorescent bulbs of the Megalight equipment save energy and have a long life (service life 8000 h) For instance by its luminosity a 36 W fluorescent bulb matches a 250 W incandescent bulb. Energy is converted into light, not into heat. For this reason the surface temperature of the lighting equipment is safely low (less than 75°C). The lamp efficiency of the lighting equipment family ranges from 11 W to 3 x 55 W. In addition to the normal 230 VAC product range we offer 24, 26 and 42 VAC as well as 24 VDC Safety models for damp and confined spaces, as well as for spaces with conductive walls.

In addition to the 230 VAC lighting system, we also have the 24, 36 and 42 VAC low volatge lighting systems for humid and confined spaces and for spaces with conductive walls.

	The electronic lamp ballast, based on high-frequency technology, is the result of our own long-term product development. It ensures bright and steady illumination provided by our lighting appliances as well as their excellent reliability.

Our products have been granted the SGS Fimko’s type approval, which is a proof of the safety of our products. In 2006 we incorporated in our production the latest developments in the field of lighting equipment ballasts. These innovative properties include, e.g., a proper pre-heat stage of the fluorescent tube before it switches on, as well as various failure protection mechanisms designed for even the most serious network failures, which are highly efficient in preventing equipment damage. Using the SMD technology we managed to reduce the size of our equipment, and improve their strain resistance.
